Hamburg Taps CDC Official as FDA Chief Operating Officer

FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg has tapped Walter Harris, deputy director of the Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as the agency’s new chief operating officer (COO). Harris will assume the role April 23.
