Large Devicemakers Less Green Than Counterparts in Other Industries

Large device companies may put less effort into environmentally sustainable business practices than counterparts in other industries because they already are seen as benefiting the public. “The healthcare industry doesn’t tend to use sustainability as a way of communicating the good it does in the world because it sees its core business mission as doing good for the world,” David Schatsky, lead analyst with Green Research of New York, said in a recent report titled “Benchmarking Sustainability Goals and Practices: Medical Equipment and Supplies, 2012.”
