CBER Launches Vaccine Oversight Program to Address Global Boom

Citing a global surge in the use of vaccines, CBER is launching a new initiative to ramp up global pre- and postmarket vaccine pharmacovigilance. The program, Global Regulatory Utilization of Vaccine Safety and Surveillance, will work with the World Health Organization (WHO) to advance efforts on the organization’s global vaccine safety blueprint. The WHO blueprint aims to study vaccine pharmacovigilance systems in low- and middle-income countries and propose a strategic plan for enhancing global vaccine safety activities.
