MHRA to Streamline OTC Reclassifications, Improve Communications With Sponsors

May 9, 2012
A Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency work group is developing proposals for streamlining the UK’s over-the-counter drug reclassification process, and plans to release updated guidance on the subject later this year, according to an MHRA report. Efforts to reform the reclassification process began in January 2011 and are part of the agency’s Better Regulation of over-the-counter Medicines Initiative (BROMI), which was launched in 2005.
