Hecoria, a Generic Tacrolimus for Transplant Recipients, Now Available by Brand Name

Now available in U.S. pharmacies, Hecoria is the first generic tacrolimus that can be prescribed by its brand name, said its distributor, Novartis Pharmaceuticals. An AB-rated generic therapeutic bioequivalent to Prograf (tacrolimus capsules), Hecoria is an immunosuppressant approved for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in patients receiving allogeneic liver or kidney transplants.
