J&J Unit Tweaks Packaging Line After Imodium Recall

May 21, 2012
Johnson & Johnson (J&J) subsidiary McNeil Consumer Healthcare is modifying some of its packaging equipment after blister unit tears led to a recall of one lot, 53,892 packages, of diarrhea drug Imodium from wholesalers. An internal quality review found the Imodium (loperamide) packages from the lot may have dents with small pinholes or tears in the blister units. Imodium from damaged blisters may not provide the full benefit, the company said.
