HERCA, U.S. FDA Seek to Reduce Unnecessary Radiation Exposure

The Association of the Heads of the European Radiological protection Competent Authorities (HERCA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote radiation protection initiatives. Initial efforts will focus on improving the safety and efficacy of computed tomography devices and reducing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients from CT.
