Drug Company Sues Illinois Over Preterm Birth Drug Makena

The battle over the pricing of a new drug used to prevent premature births is spreading to Illinois. KV Pharmaceutical Co. has filed suit to compel the state’s Medicaid program to pay the St. Louis drug company more than $500 per injection for Makena, instead of paying just $20 for non-branded versions.
