Novartis: “We Do Not Bribe Anyone” (Pharmalot Blog)
The recent headlines about foreign bribes paid by pharmaceutical companies have apparently prompted Novartis to issue a note to employees about its anti-bribery policy, which boils down to “We do not bribe anyone,” Ed Silverman writes. This is “a smart legal move, since the drugmaker can point to its efforts to spell out specifics to employees should any trouble later arise,” he adds. However, it wouldn’t indemnify a drugmaker in the event of a subpoena or investigation.
