GSK Prepping Sleeker Manufacturing Systems for Coming Product Cornucopia

Facing a present sales slump and pending heavy pipeline flows, GlaxoSmithKline is moving to restructure its EU operations and implement various production efficiencies, GSK officials say. The UK pharma giant has already begun to deploy continuous process manufacturing, a resource-maximizing production process that minimizes cost-consuming production line stoppages, GSK CEO Andrew Witty told analysts in a fourth-quarter earnings call Wednesday.
