Brazilian Lawmaker Offers Pathway for Expanded Access to Orphan Drugs

Efforts to expand access to orphan drugs in Brazil got a boost from legislation introduced May 9 in the National Congress. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Darcisio Perondi of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party, combines three earlier measures aimed at establishing national coverage for drugs for rare diseases.
