EU Consumer Group Pans Industry Trial Transparency Principles

A joint set of industry principles for “reasonable” sharing of trial data has been rejected by a European consumer advocacy group as falling “woefully short” of the data transparency needed. The trial transparency blueprint, issued last week by PhRMA and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, sought to solidify the groups’ stance on the matter amid a push by EU regulators to boost public access to clinical trial data.
