House Lawmakers Inch Toward Bipartisan Accord on Compounding Reform

A bipartisan group of House lawmakers introduced legislation Thursday proposing new federal requirements for large compounding pharmacies, signaling a potential breakthrough on the contentious issue. H.R. 3089, the Compounding Clarity Act, is intended to clarify the FDA’s existing authority over large-scale compounders who mix drugs without a prescription and ship them to other states.
