Agreement Puts Focus on Nanotech Research, Regulation in Brazil

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Brazil’s Anvisa has renewed an agreement with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, with the aim of promoting research on the use of nanotechnology in healthcare products. In addition to emphasizing nanotech research, the two entities will study the need for targeted regulation of nanotechnology, said Daniella Guimarães, chief of Anvisa’s Center for Education, Research and Knowledge.
