Drugmakers Face One-Year Pedigree, 10-Year Traceability Deadlines Under Draft Bill

By 2015, drug manufacturers and stakeholders along the supply chain must include a transaction history on all products to abide by a draft bill that would establish a nationwide pharmaceutical track-and-trace program. The legislation, introduced Wednesday, would also immediately preempt state laws such as California’s strict ePedigree program, which is set to take effect in 2015 and has left much of the industry scrambling.
