Federal Crackdown on Healthcare Fraud Reining In Pharma: Report

A federal crackdown on Medicare and Medicaid fraud has led to an increase in the number of cases filed under the False Claims Act, with more drugmakers coming under scrutiny than ever before, according to a new report. Between 1987 and 1992, the first six years after the False Claims Act Amendments were enacted, the government investigated 62 healthcare qui tam cases.
