Drugmakers Need Drug Shortage Task Forces, EFPIA Says

Drugmakers should establish a company task force of upper management and quality personnel to prevent drug shortages, according to new good practice guidelines developed by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). The task force, which should also include outside representatives from the company’s supply chain partners, should be charged with maintaining quality and inventory processes to ensure patients have access to medicines, the 40-member trade group says.
