FDA Announces February Meeting of Risk Communications Advisory Committee

January 2, 2014

The FDA’s Risk Communications Advisory Committee will meet next month to discuss ways of boosting the effect of consumer alerts.

The Feb. 3-4 meeting — at the agency’s White Oak, Md., campus — will focus on methods for identifying the impact and increasing the reach of communications on topics of interest to consumers, ways the FDA can evaluate whether its Consumer Updates are reaching the intended target populations and whether the updates are helping to raise awareness and understanding of risks, according to a notice in today’s Federal Register.

Background materials will be available at least two business days ahead of the meeting. Interested parties who are unable to attend can participate via webcast.
