FDA Seeks Nonvoting Industry Reps for Advisory Committee

January 21, 2014

The FDA is seeking nominations for nonvoting industry representatives for its Device GMP Advisory Committee and its Medical Devices Advisory Committee, the agency said Tuesday.

Nominations should be submitted in writing no later than Feb. 20 and provide the nominee’s name and contact information, as well as a current curriculum vitae and the name of the advisory committee in question.

Nominees for the Device GMP Advisory Committee should well-versed in issues related for device good manufacturing practices and able to contribute to the committee’s work. Nominees for the Medical Devices Advisory Committee should be full-time employees of companies that manufacture products that would come before the panel or employees of firms that consult with such manufacturers, according to notices in Tuesday’s Federal Register.

Within 30 days after the closing date for nominations, the agency will send each interested organization a list of organizations and nominees, along with current resumes. The interested parties should then communicate with each other, the FDA says, to select a candidate within the following 60 days.
