NEC’s PACS System-Compatible Display Gets FDA Green Light

January 21, 2015

NEC Display Solutions of America announced Tuesday the receipt of FDA 510(k) clearance for its MultiSync MD210C3 LCD display for diagnostic imaging. The 21-inch, three-megapixel color display works with picture archiving and communication systems.

The display has been calibrated to the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine grayscale function for luminance and features a sensor to maintain brightness. It also features a sensor that reduces brightness when the user walks away from the monitor — saving power and extending display life, NEC says. And its DisplayPort and USB hubs enable connectivity for any workstation, the Itasca, Ill., electronics maker adds.

The display is currently available for $4,299, which includes a five-year warranty. — Kellen Owings
