Gyros Launches Single Compact Disc Assay System

February 9, 2015

Laboratory instrument maker Gyros has launched its Gyrolab xPlore, a single-compact disc tool that makes nanoliter-scale immunoassays available to laboratories of any size. The microfluidic technology results in faster assay development, validation and analysis than with manual ELISA or semiautomated assays, the Swedish company said Monday.

The xPlore is a smaller, more compact and cost-effective version of the company’s five-CD Gyrolab xP workstation. It delivers high-quality data with excellent reproducibility while significantly reducing sample and reagent consumption, and can analyze large amounts of samples in parallel, Gyros said. This ensures uniform processing and up to 112 data points in less than an hour, the company added.

Gyros is showcasing the device at the Automation and Screening Conference in Washington, D.C., through Feb. 11. — Kellen Owings
