Jonathan Jarow Named Acting Director of OMP

CDER Director Janet Woodcock has tapped Jonathan Jarow for a 120-day stint as acting director of the Office of Medical Policy, effective Feb. 23.

The office is large, comprising more than 150 people, and is responsible for formulating the center’s policies on drug development, approval and postmarket surveillance.

Prior to the appointment, Jarow was the associate director of the Office of Hematology and Oncology Products. He also has experience with reproductive urology products and clinical investigations and serves as a team leader on the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative.

Jarow replaces Denise Hinton, who held the acting director position for 13 months. — Lena Freund
