Canon to Create Biomedical Subsidiary

Digital imaging firm Canon U.S.A. said Monday that it is forming a wholly owned biomedical subsidiary to spearhead its global biomedical business.

Canon BioMedical will develop, manufacture and market products for Canon’s life science and molecular diagnostics platforms and explore ways to expand Canon technology into other medical fields, the company said. The company will also look for strategic partnerships in the device and diagnostics arena.
