Health Canada Kicks Off Inspections Database

April 20, 2015

Health Canada has launched an online public database of information relating to drug company inspections, including which firms have a good history of meeting safety and quality standards and which do not.

The Drug and Health Product Inspections Database, launched Monday, has information on all domestic and foreign drug inspections conducted by Health Canada since 2012, including detailed report cards, the agency says.

The searchable database follows the recent launch of a Drug and Health Product Register, a tool for looking up indications, dosage forms, warnings and precautions and other information on hundreds of prescription drugs.

The Drug and Health Product Inspections Database can be accessed at http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/apps/inspections/index-en.html. Find the drugs register at https://hpr-rps.hres.ca/search-recherche-eng.php. — Kellen Owings
