Natus Medical Launches Quantum Amplifier

April 22, 2015

Natus Medical will launch its Quantum amplifier, a high channel count device for epilepsy and seizure monitoring, following receipt of FDA 510(k) clearance, CEO Jim Hawkins told Device Daily Wednesday. The product has already received the CE Mark.

The device is the first amplifier to feature up to 256 channels and 16 kHz sampling rates to hit the market, the company says, adding that these features allow for increased brain frequency visibility. When combined with a software-controlled Digital Switch Matrix, health professionals can engage in functional brain mapping through cortical stimulation and take advantage of a dual data stream to maximize efficiency.
