Ypsomed, Sanofi Alliance Boosts Injection Systems Production

Swiss-based manufacturer Ypsomed Group’s longstanding partnership with French pharmaceutical company Sanofi will be strengthened by an upcoming initiative: Ypsomed will manufacture injection system pen components for a new Sanofi product line beginning in late 2016, with Ypsomed boasting a future component annual capacity in the double-digit millions.

Ypsomed was founded in 2003, branching off from Disetronic Medical Systems. The company manufactures insulin pumps, injection systems and pen needles for diabetes, growth disorders, infertility, oncology and other treatment fields.

Sanofi markets diabetes treatments, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare and animal health products, as well as offering rare and debilitating disease treatments through its Genzyme subsidiary.
