Bruker Launches MALDI Tissue Typer Solution

Bruker announced Tuesday the launch of its MALDI tissue typer solution featuring the company’s rapifleX MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry technology.

The system reduces previous mass spectrometry imaging bottlenecks, the Billerica, Mass., company claims.

The system does not require a molecular probe or antibody in contrast to traditional histological tissue analysis devices, and allows for multiplex analysis of several potential biomarkers at the same time.

In April, Bruker’s MALDI Biotyper CA System, an in vitro diagnostic for clinical microbiology, won FDA 510(k) clearance to expand its library of species. — Jason Scott
