Philips Announces HeartModel Launch

Royal Philips has launched HeartModel, an anatomically intelligent ultrasound tool that provides three-dimensional imaging of the cardiovascular system, the Dutch devicemaker announced Friday.

HeartModel allows medical professionals to diagnose disease, devise treatments and guide related therapies, the company says.

Comparison studies revealed that exams using the AIUS tool are three to six times faster than standard two-dimensional exams in collection of left ventricular and atrial dimensions and volumes data, the devicemaker adds.

HeartModel will be available in the U.S. starting in August, with a global launch following before the end of the year. — Jason Scott
