S-Bio’s BlotGlyco Kit Launches in U.S. and EU

S-Bio has launched its BlotGlyco preparation kit for O-glycan analysis in biological samples and biotherapeutic glycoproteins in the U.S. and EU.

The product works by separating O-glycan sugar chains from the glycoproteins in a solution, with glycobeads added to capture the O-glycans and detect changes in glycan expression, the Hudson, N.H., devicemaker said Tuesday. These changes, in turn, can serve as indicators of diseases such as cancer and viral infection.

Customers can use their choice of label to analyze the O-glycans, including HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-TOF MS and CE. Characterizing expression changes should help speed the development of new therapies and diagnostics, the company added.
