Misonix Launches New SonicOne Ultrasonic Procedure in U.S.

Misonix on Friday introduced a new, faster version of its SonicOne ultrasonic wound debridement procedure.

The upgraded procedure includes a single-use debridement probe with increased ultrasonic amplitude that enables surgeons to potentially reduce operating time by up to 50 percent, the Farmingdale, N.Y., devicemaker claims.

The company’s ultrasonic products are also used in spine, neuro-, orthopedic, cosmetic and laparoscopic surgery. Misonix estimates the ultrasonic medical device market exceeds $1.5 billion annually. — Jason Scott
