Bacterin to Buy X-spine Systems

July 28, 2015

Bacterin International will acquire Miamisburg, Ohio, devicemaker X-spine System, in a transaction valued around $60 million, and rename itself Xtant Medical, the Belgrade, Mont., company said Monday.

The deal will give orthobiologics manufacturer Bacterin access to X-spine’s spinal surgery devices and hardware, allowing it to offer complementary product lines. In addition, the company’s national distribution footprint will expand considerably, Bacterin says.

Bacterin CEO Dan Goldberger projects the combined companies’ annual revenue will exceed $80 million, with a significantly widened customer base.
