Codman Neuro Emoblic Coils Used in Brain Aneurysm Treatment

July 30, 2015

Codman Neuro has introduced a new platform of embolic coils to treat brain aneurysms during minimally invasive endovascular procedures.

The Johnson & Johnson company says its three types of coils help doctors individualize intervention based on the unique anatomy of a patient’s aneurysm.

During a procedure, tiny coils are deployed directly into the aneurysm using a catheter to induce clotting or embolism and prevent rupture.

Codman Neuro offers devices for hydrocephalus management, neuro intensive care and cranial surgery, vascular devices and technologies used in endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms and stroke. — John Bechtel
