Aethon Will Provide MedEx TraySafe Products to LeeSar

August 10, 2015

Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Aethon reached a deal with LeeSar to provide its MedEx TraySafe to produce preconfigured trays used in crash carts for hospitals and other emergency settings in the Florida region.

Aethon’s TraySafe system uses standard labels and ultra-high resolution imaging to detect all contacts in a crash cart tray in seconds. Not only can it identify missing or expired items, it also can detect items that are misplaced in the tray, the firm says.

Aethon delivers goods and supplies in hospitals using its Tug smart autonomous robot and manages pharmacy logistics using a suite of software products to track preparation and delivery of medicines from the pharmacy.

LeeSar, of Ft. Myers, Fla., says it chose the Aethon system because replenishing and managing trays is a labor-intensive process. The system meets its operational and safety requirements and is cost-effective. — John Bechtel
