August 18, 2015

The National Institute for Health Research, the research arm of the United Kingdom’s National Health Service, has awarded $2.9 million to Quanta Fluid Solutions Ltd to develop a new product concept for nocturnal hemodialysis.

Quanta, a developer of advanced hemodialysis systems, will use the money to construct a dialysis machine concept targeted for nocturnal use.

Specifically, Quanta will aim to maximize the delivery of nocturnal dialysis by using the award to develop a series of new technologies.

Quanta is working with Professor William Zimmerman of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Sheffield University and Europlaz Technologies Ltd. to develop the new product concept. — Michael Cipriano
