Roche to Acquire Kapa Biosystems

Switzerland-based Roche will acquire Kapa Biosystems Inc., a provider of genomic tools in the life sciences sector. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kapa, which is headquartered in Wilmington, Mass., employs proprietary technologies to optimize enzymes for next-generation sequencing, as well as polymerase chain reaction and real-time PCR applications.

Kapa’s proprietary protein engineering technology allows for the generation and screening of large numbers of enzyme variants.
