Blue Belt Technologies Announces Support for ZUK Unicompartmental Knee

September 8, 2015

Plymouth, Minn.-based Blue Belt Technologies has announced commercial support for Smith & Nephew’s ZUK unicompartmental knee, a clinically established knee replacement introduced globally in 2004, on Blue Belt’s Navio robotics-assisted system.

Blue Belt President and CEO Eric Timko says the addition will provide ZUK users with a robotics-assisted option that does not require a compromise on implant preference.

Navio uses CT-free navigation and handheld robotics, enabling the surgeon to create a surgical plan based on patient anatomy, resulting in a high degree of implant placement accuracy.

The Navio systems open implant software supports eight different knee systems to support a wide audience. — Michael Cipriano
