MEJ, Toshiba Establish Russia-Japan Cardiac Imaging Training Center

Medical Excellence Japan and Toshiba Medical Systems have established the Russia-Japan Cardiac Imaging Training Center, with the goal of improving cardiac diagnostic imaging and treatment in Russia.

The training center will feature Japanese diagnostic imaging systems and continuous medical education of physicians in Russia.

Toshiba said fostering of cardiovascular specialists will allow earlier diagnosis and treatment to prevent the progress of disease, and in turn, reduce the number of deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases in Russia.

As of 2013, cardiovascular diseases account for 61.9 percent of deaths in Russia, according to the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation. — Michael Cipriano
