Nipro to Acquire Infraredx

Osaka, Japan-based Nipro has agreed to acquire Infraredx, an intravascular imaging company with the goal of advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease.

The acquisition will combine Nipro’s cardiovascular portfolio and resources with Infraredx’s industry expertise in near infrared spectroscopy and intravascular ultrasound. It also will help introduce Nipro’s cardiovascular products into the U.S.

Nipro’s portfolio includes medical products in the fields of artificial organs, circulatory devices, test/diagnostic agents, injection/infusion solutions, ethical pharmaceuticals and medical glass products.
