Philips and Radbound University Medical Center Launch Diabetes App

Royal Philips and Netherlands-based Radboud University Medical Center have launched a digital health prototype that enables diabetes patients and health providers manage the complexity of diabetes self-care.

The system consists of a mobile app and an online community. It collects and connects data from electronic medical records, multiple personal health devices and patient self-reported data.

The smartphone or tablet app enables patients to continuously view their blood glucose levels, insulin use, and nutrition.

Patients can interact with their health providers via private messaging or shared posts within a healthcare organization’s clinical guidelines. — Michael Cipriano
