Zoll Aquires Israel-Based Kyma

Zoll Medical has acquired Tel Aviv, Israel-based Kyma Medical Technologies, a developer of technologies to measure early signs of congestive heart failure.

The acquisition will expand the portfolio of the Chelmsford, Mass.-based Zoll with additional technologies designed to improve outcomes for heart failure patients, and to expand its global footprint.

Kyma is developing the µ-Cor System remote patient monitoring system which uses radio frequency-based technology to monitor the level of fluid in the lungs.

Kyma announced it received CE Mark approval for the system in January for monitoring thoracic fluid content, ECG, heart rate, respiration rate, activity and posture. — Michael Cipriano
