Novocure Receives CE Mark for Optune System

Oncology company Novocure has received CE Mark for its second generation Optune system for distribution in the EU and Switzerland.

The Optune system is designed to improve the convenience and manageability of tumor treating fields therapy.

The size, shape and display of the system are more user-friendly and streamlined, and signal generation technology provides a generator that is half the size and weight of the generator currently in use.

The Jersey Isle company has started roll-out of the system in Germany this month, and plans a broader European roll-out by the end of the year. — Michael Cipriano
