Cadence Biomedical Partners with UNO to Research Kickstart Device

Cadence Biomedical has entered into a research collaboration with the University of Nebraska Omaha to study the ability of stroke survivors to adapt and improve motor skills after using Cadence’s Kickstart device.

Kickstart is designed to help restore walking ability in patients recovering from stroke, partial spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions.

The principal investigator of this research effort is Mukul Mukherjee, an assistant professor at UNO and assistant director of the Biomechanics Research Building at UNO.

The main objective is to develop affordable and highly effective therapeutic technology for stroke survivors who do not have access to high-tech therapy centers, Mukherjee says. —Michael Cipriano
