Bausch + Lomb to Acquire Doctor's Allergy Formula

Valeant Pharmaceuticals’ Bausch + Lomb subsidiary has reached an agreement to acquire Doctor's Allergy Formula, an ophthalmic diagnostic startup, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal gives Bausch + Lomb access to the FDA-approved Doctor's Allergy Formula test, which aids eye care practitioners in diagnosing and identifying the root causes’ of patients’ ocular allergies.

The test takes three minutes to perform and utilizes a panel of 60 allergens specific to each region of the country. Results are available within 15 minutes.

Once the deal is finalized, Doctor’s Allergy Formula will be integrated into Bausch + Lomb’s pharmaceutical division, the firm said. — Michael Cipriano
