Toshiba Introduces its Ultimax-i FPD Multipurpose System

Toshiba America Medical Systems has introduced its Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system, expanding its X-ray product portfolio.

The system uses the space providers have to safely diagnose and treat all patients, without the need for major renovation, the devicemaker says. It can accommodate patients up to 500 pounds.

Additionally, it is equipped with full-spectrum detection on a flat-panel detector with 43 cm by 43 cm coverage for high-resolution imaging. The detector also helps reduce dose by limiting areas of anatomy receiving unnecessarily repeated radiation exposure.

Toshiba will showcase the device at the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago, Ill. from Nov. 29 to Dec. 24. — Michael Cipriano
