FDA to Stay Open After Senate Passes Two-Year Budget Deal

November 5, 2015

The FDA will not be forced into a shutdown this year after the Senate passed and President Barack Obama signed a two-year budget last week for fiscal years 2016 and 2017.

Appropriations committees will start working on new subcommittee allocations and negotiate the thousands of individual items that need to be resolved, Senate Appropriations Committee spokesman Chris Gallegos says.  He adds that the committees are working toward having appropriations completed by Dec. 11.
