Iridex to Feature Cyclo G6 Laser System

Mountain View, Calif.-based Iridex will feature its Cyclo G6 laser system for the treatment of a range of glaucoma disease states at annual American Academy of Ophthalmology Meeting, which is scheduled for Nov. 14 to 17 in Las Vegas, Nev.

The system is equipped with MicroPulse tissue sparing glaucoma technology, which electronically "chops" the laser emission into trains of microsecond pulses. It enables the physician to control the laser effects more precisely on target tissues.

The Cyclo G6 laser also offers minimally invasive approaches to help slow the progress of the glaucoma.

Glaucoma affects approximately 4 million people in the U.S. and 60 million people worldwide, according to the company. —Michael Cipriano
