Philips Launches Lumify in the U.S

With an eye toward reducing healthcare costs, Netherlands-based Royal Philips has launched its Lumify ultrasound device solution in the U.S.

Lumify, part of the company’s digital health approach, is intended to make ultrasound more accessible and ease point-of-care diagnostics in an increasingly connected healthcare environment.

Users download the Lumify app from Google Play, connect a Philips transducer to their smart devices and launch the app to begin scanning. As part of a subscription service, users may order transducers, access training and IT services and obtain support from Philips.

Lumify is available for use in acute and emergency care, internal medicine, musculoskeletal urgent care and office practice, the company says. — Michael Cipriano
