ANVISA Approves EndoStim II LES Stimulation System

Brazil’s ANVISA has given the green light to EndoStim for its EndoStim II LES stimulation system.

A minimally invasive neurostimulation therapy, the system is a long-term treatment option for patients with chronic reflux who may not be treated with medication.

The system targets the patient's weak or dysfunctional lower esophageal sphincter muscle between the stomach and the esophagus — often the underlying cause of reflux.

According to Endostim, more than 250 patients with gastroesophageal reflux have been treated successfully with the therapy so far. — Michael Cipriano
