Sanofi Division Introduces Injectable Polio Vaccine in India

December 10, 2015

Sanofi’s vaccines division Sanofi Pasteur has launched its injectable polio vaccine ShanIPV in India.

India is introducing one dose of the vaccine for infants  at 14 weeks, and will be given in addition to the existing oral polio vaccine.

The vaccine will be manufactured by the company’s India unit Shantha Biotechnics — which the company acquired in 2009 — and doses will be provided through UNICEF.
