Medtronic to Open Ireland Facility
December 14, 2015
Medical device giant Medtronic has unveiled plans to open a new facility in Galway, Ireland to manufacture its IN.PACT Admiral drug-coated balloon for the treatment of peripheral artery disease.
The decision to open the new facility was based on the existing high-tech capability and expertise at the site in drug-device combination products for the company’s coronary business, according to the Irish devicemaker.
The facility — which will have 20,000 square feet of space with 8,000 square feet for manufacturing — will cost about $14.3 million. — Michael Cipriano
